Product Overview
Metalsin’s Intelligent Standardized Pump Room is a fully integrated water supply solution designed for modern residential and commercial buildings. It combines packaged secondary (booster) water supply equipment, security and access control, online water quality monitoring, water leakage and smoke detection, and other safety systems in a standardized, factory-engineered pump room.
The entire pump room is built to a unified design standard, enabling centralized pipeline routing and unattended operation through remote monitoring. Multiple subsystems – including user interface and perception, energy management, intelligent identification, human–machine interaction, water quality assurance, noise and vibration control, and power supply protection – are seamlessly integrated into one smart platform.

The intelligent standardized pump room for a high-rise building’s water supply system.
By standardizing both equipment and layout, the Metalsin Intelligent Standardized Pump Room helps:
- Extend equipment service life
- Reduce the risk of secondary water pollution
- Lower water leakage and non-revenue water
- Improve energy efficiency and environmental performance
- Ensure safe, reliable and convenient water supply for end users
This solution is ideal for municipal water supply, residential communities, commercial complexes, hotels, hospitals, schools and other buildings that require stable, clean and intelligent water supply systems.
Construction Standards
1. Pump Room
- The pump room is independently located and not shared with other equipment rooms. Entrances lead directly from a public corridor, and all openings are equipped with measures to prevent small animals from entering.
- Interior finishing materials comply with environmental and health requirements. Floors and equipment foundations are paved with tiles, while walls and ceilings are fitted with sound-absorbing panels. Double-glazed windows are used to reduce noise transmission from the pump room to surrounding areas.
- A dedicated drainage system is installed inside the pump room. Drainage channels are arranged around key equipment, with linked level control and real-time water level display. Anti-flooding measures include distributed leak-detection probes, which are connected to the central control system for automatic alarm and event recording.
- The pump room is equipped with an emergency lighting system. All luminaires are waterproof, explosion-proof, moisture-resistant and energy-saving, and can be linked with the access control system, time-controlled switching or sound-controlled switching to reduce energy consumption.
- Pipelines in the pump room are logically and compactly arranged to avoid unnecessary bends and pressure loss, with pumps positioned for easy operation and maintenance. The floor is clearly marked with identification lines and safety markings, and walls are finished in a clean light color, with organized and clearly visible operation rules and safety instructions displayed.
- The pump room is fitted with forced ventilation to maintain fresh air and a suitable working environment. For outdoor or above-ground pump rooms, thermal insulation and heat-proofing measures are implemented to ensure reliable year-round operation.
2. Equipment
- For any packaged water supply equipment not provided directly by Metalsin, the equipment manufacturer must supply factory qualification certificates and relevant test reports. All water-contact components shall have valid hygienic approval documents, and all wetted parts shall be made of stainless steel or other approved sanitary materials.
- The pump room is equipped with disinfection facilities and online water quality monitoring instruments. Monitoring data can be uploaded, stored and shared on the supervisory platform, supporting regulatory compliance and transparent water quality management.
- The main inlet pipeline is provided with a backflow preventer or equivalent anti-backflow protection. Water supply equipment includes water hammer protection to mitigate pressure surges and extend the life of pipes and valves.
- Water supply equipment is designed with maintenance drainage points, and automatic air-release devices are installed at low points of the inlet main and relevant equipment sections to ensure efficient exhaust and stable system operation.
3. Electrical and Control System
- The electrical control system includes a power distribution cabinet, motor control cabinet, PLC control cabinet and intelligent central control cabinet. All electrical components and wiring layouts comply with electromagnetic compatibility and protection requirements. Cabinets are floor-mounted in a row and are protected against dust, water and moisture to improve safety and reliability.
- The power system adopts a three-phase five-wire configuration, with integrated lightning protection and anti-interference devices, and is suitable for ambient temperatures from –5°C to +60°C. The motor control cabinet provides over-voltage, over-current, under-voltage, phase loss and short-circuit protection.
- The control system supports fault alarming and event logging, and can monitor and record all critical operating parameters, including pressure, flow, frequency, current, voltage, water level, power consumption, pump operating status and water quality data. Additional data points can be added according to user requirements.
- The PLC cabinet and intelligent central control cabinet provide standard communication interfaces and protocols to integrate with all other equipment inside the pump room. They can also connect to an upper-level SCADA / monitoring platform, enabling real-time data upload and remote control. In the event of water supply interruption, leakage, pipe burst, equipment fault or abnormal high/low water level, the system triggers timely alarms; in case of pipe bursts, it can automatically shut off the water source to minimize damage.
4. Security and Monitoring
- The intelligent standardized pump room is equipped with a video surveillance system that is networked with the central monitoring center. Local storage devices keep video recordings for no less than 30 days. The CCTV system supports motion detection alarms and can capture and store related images and video clips for event tracing.
- An access control system is installed at the pump room entrance and can be connected to the upper-level management platform. The system supports automatic identification and authorization, access logging and power-fail retention to ensure that records are not lost during outages.
- The pump room also features infrared break-glass intrusion alarms and an integrated voice warning / deterrent system, providing active security protection against unauthorized entry and vandalism.
