Photos of the vertical-type Woltmann water meter.
A vertical-type Woltman water meter features a turbine with its shaft oriented vertically, allowing water to flow upward through the impeller rather than horizontally, and its measurement path follows this vertical direction. Built for efficient, accurate, and durable performance in demanding flow conditions, it uses a direct-drive impeller without a worm gear, which improves transmission efficiency and reduces the initial flow needed to start measuring. Its wide measuring range makes it suitable for environments with large flow fluctuations, and full-flow detection delivers high accuracy. A dry magnetic transmission keeps the register clean and the display clear, complemented by a six-digit character wheel for easy reading. The measuring mechanism can be removed for convenient maintenance, and its internal adjustable structure helps prevent unauthorized tampering. A built-in stainless steel filter protects the measuring components, while a high wear-resistant bearing system supports long-term stability and reliability. For additional security, an optional tamper-protection cover helps deter damage or theft.
The vertical Woltman water meter is available in sizes ranging from DN40 to DN200 and offers accuracy classes of R80, R160, or R200. It is suitable for cold water up to 30°C and hot water applications at 30°C or 90°C. The design does not require an additional filter or straight pipe sections at the inlet or outlet, making installation more flexible. The meter body can be manufactured from cast iron, ductile iron, SS304, or SS316 to suit different environments. Optional features include pulse output, RS485 Modbus communication, wired remote reading, pulse splitters, pulse displays, and remote transmission options such as LoRa and NB-IoT.
