EN 12334 Dual Plate Wafer Check Valves

At Metalsin, we supply ductile iron dual-plate wafer check valves, made in accordance with EN 12334, to waterworks applications. Dual-plate wafer swing check valves are a specialized type of check valve that combine a compact, wafer-style design with a dual-plate swing mechanism to offer improved sealing and performance in one-way flow applications. These valves have the following design features:

• These valves are designed to sit directly between two pipe flanges, making them very thin and space-saving. The pipe flanges should be made to EN 1092 PN10/PN16, AS 2129 Table E, JIS B2212 10K, BS 10 Table D/E.
• The key structural feature is the presence of two spring-loaded plates (or discs) mounted on a central hinge pin. The two plates work in tandem; when fluid flows in the correct direction, both plates swing open, and when reverse flow occurs, they close simultaneously for a tighter seal.
• Both the body & disc are made from ductile iron material, which is a robust and economical cast iron suitable for waterworks applications. The valve body incorporates a machined seating surface, lined with EPDM rubber and aligned with the discs for tight sealing.
