Design Features
This horizontal-type Woltman water meter (also known as “Woltmann water meter”) is built for high-flow applications such as main supply pipelines, large industrial facilities, and total water consumption monitoring in industrial processes. A horizontal-axis (horizontal type) Woltman meter has a turbine with its shaft positioned horizontally, and the water moves through the meter in a horizontal flow path.

It features a dry magnetic transmission that keeps the register clean and easy to read, along with low pressure loss and a wide measuring range suitable for fluctuating flow conditions. A built-in flow rectifier enhances resistance to interference, while the Bernoulli-based measuring mechanism uses a water-suspended impeller rotor for greater sensitivity. The wear-resistant bearing system supports long-term accuracy and stability, and full-flow measurement ensures high precision. The housing is coated inside and out with epoxy resin powder to prevent corrosion and extend service life. The detachable measuring core simplifies maintenance, and an optional tamper-proof cover helps prevent unauthorized access or theft. Additional options include pulse output, RS485 Modbus, wired remote reading, pulse splitters, pulse displays, and remote transmission via LoRa or NB-IoT.
Technical Parameters
This horizontal-type Woltman water meter is available in sizes ranging from DN40 to DN600 and comes with either a stainless-steel or cast-iron body. It is designed for cold water applications from 0.1°C to 30°C and hot water use from 0.1°C to 90°C, with a maximum operating pressure of MAP10. The maximum permissible error is ±5% from Qmin to Qt, and from Qt to Qs the accuracy is ±2% for cold water meters and ±3% for hot water meters, where Qmin represents the minimum flow, Qt the transitional flow, and Qs the maximum flow.
